 Some of the first upright, man-made shelters were built with timbers.
The post and beam structure, with posts upright
and the beams connected gave stability to the
posts. Timber frames were being built before the inventions of nails, so intricately crafted joints, the most common being mortise and tenon, held the whole thing together. Traditional and non-traditional joinery is a hallmark of this work.
Timber Frame construction allows for a wide range of diversity in styles and finishes, from rustic to contemporary. There are endless options for truss designs, wood species, and finish options.
